ACEA welcomes the adoption by the European Parliament of the Data Act \u2013 a thorough and unambiguous law, which will support the growth of a wide range of services across the entire automotive industry. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Data Act<\/a> will give users control of the full range of data shared by their vehicle, with no exceptions. In other words, vehicle manufacturers will not enjoy any advantage over other data recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the Data Act has been adopted, the authorities and the industry must focus on its implementation and on gaining a full understanding of its impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACEA believes that it would make no sense to immediately rush into another legislative effort on data. The association strongly believes that the Commission must focus its limited legislative resources on far more urgent matters such as the revision of eCall requirements, which mandate obsolete technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, the industry would welcome guidelines on the application of the Data Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\t
