They are critical in supporting long-distance travel with BEVs and alleviating range anxiety.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"embed block-container\"><p><iframe class=\"localfocusvisual\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"width:100%;height:580px;overflow:hidden\" src=\"\r\nhttps:\/\/localfocuswidgets.net\/668698289cce9\"><\/iframe><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"cntnt block-container\">\n<p>As the EU sees an increase in the adoption of BEVs, the availability and strategic placement of public fast chargers along motorways are becoming increasingly pivotal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, there are approximately 3 million BEVs on EU roads, with around 75,000 public fast chargers available. This translates into a ratio of roughly 30 BEVs for every fast charger. When counting plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) \u2013 which also rely on the same charging infrastructure \u2013 this ratio rises to about 52 cars per fast charger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the number of electric cars continues to grow, expanding the network of fast chargers will be vital to meet the evolving demands of electric vehicle users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need mass-market adoption of electric cars in all EU countries to achieve Europe\u2019s ambitious CO2-reduction targets,\u201d stated ACEA\u2019s Director General, Sigrid de Vries.&nbsp;\u201cThis will not happen without widespread availability of fast and convenient public charging infrastructure right across the region.
