As part of the European Commission\u2019s Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the Automotive Industry, ACEA has responded to a public consultation on the sector\u2019s most pressing challenges. Its recommendations outline critical policy measures to ensure a smooth and sustainable transition to zero-emission mobility while safeguarding Europe\u2019s global competitiveness. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The European automotive industry stands at a pivotal crossroads. While fully committed to decarbonisation, light- and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers face mounting competitive pressures that could undermine Europe\u2019s automotive industry global leadership. ACEA is calling for a policy framework that balances climate ambitions with economic and industrial realities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consultation focuses on five key areas: innovation, clean transition and decarbonisation, competitiveness and resilience, trade relations, and regulatory streamlining. In its response, ACEA has put forward concrete policy recommendations, calling for predictable and streamlined regulatory environment, a market- and demand-driven approach, and policies that support high-quality jobs and skills, amog others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
