Vehicle data sharing drives innovation, enhances safety, and fosters sustainability within the European automotive industry. Through its seven recommendations, the European Automobile Manufacturers\u2019 Association (ACEA) advocates for the effective implementation of the Data Act and the careful evaluation of its outcomes, the simplification of the regulatory framework, and the creation of a unified European Data Space. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This position paper also highlights the need for industry cooperation, standardisation, and the development of an industry-led framework for AI data availability. These measures aim to support the digital transformation of the automotive sector, ensuring competitiveness and benefiting consumers, businesses, and society at large. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACEA\u2019s key recommendations on connected vehicle data sharing: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Support the implementation of the Data Act, and evaluate its effects on the market before introducing new requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Simplify the regulatory framework for vehicle data sharing to align it with the Data Act by appointing a unit to streamline and coordinate initiatives on data<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Federalise data access points and create a unified European Data Space to facilitate efficient data sharing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Bolster cooperation between market actors to optimise data usage through clear use cases and promote standardisation to boost interoperability<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Set up a dialogue on relevant data policies and international challenges relating to third-country data laws<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Promote the establishment of an industry-led framework for the availability of data for AI and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Ensure that data-sharing initiatives benefit stakeholders in Europe and brings innovation and new business models to the European Data Economy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n\t\t
